Will Andrews | Rolling Bones BBQ

You’ll hear our buddy Will at Rolling Bones Barbecue say “Eat B.B.Q. Live Forever” a lot and we can get behind that.

He’s a fella who ejected from over a decade in the corporate world—from a career as an actuary to business school to a job at Amazon, the whole deal—to become a full-time fire guy. Somewhere in there, he fit in a thru-hike of the Appalachian Trail, but that’s a different story.
He’ll tell you the leap from corporate to BBQ was him rolling the bones on the life he wanted.

It might sound like a 180, and it was. But he comes from a half-Texan, half-South Carolinian family that loves food and has always smoked meat.

In the early days of Rolling Bones, it was just Will posting cooking videos shot on his iPhone—documenting cooks, experiments, and mistakes while developing a style that digs into the science of BBQ without getting too lost in the sauce. Since then, he has logged thousands of hours cooking on our backyard pits and full-scale commercial rigs, learning what actually works and why.

These days, Will and his wife Virginia run Rolling Bones Barbecue. They’ve developed recipes for brands, sold out the occasional BBQ popup, and cooked events across the U.S. Will might joke that the goal is to cook the first brisket in space, but the real one is simpler: help people understand the why behind the cook through their content.

Because when you understand the why, not just the steps, you can cook with confidence, break made-up BBQ rules on purpose, and make food that actually feels like yours.

We like that.

They’ve also got a line of rubs called the Perpetual Line. We think they’re “really good.”
